Arno Marais has always been familiar with the golf world. Growing up in Groblersdal where is father was not only the greenkeeper of a club but the captain as well. He went from hanging on to his dads trolley to picking up a club himself at the age of 16. Playing his first game on Boschnmer Golf Course sending his ball flying 250meters straight down the fairway with a old Golden Bear Driver.

He enjoys the Metropolitan course due to the courses immaculate conditions commenting that they most likely not only have the best course conditions in the Western Cape but greens as well. He also enjoys where it is situated as the stadium is near by, creating a fun 'vibe'.
